Bible Question: In Deuteronomy 14:9 why are you forbidden to eat sea animals that do not have fins are scales. |
Bible Answer: Hi Bumb, We don't know why God allowed only eating sea creatures with fins and scales, since the Bible doesn't elaborate. Anytime we ask why, when the Bible doesn't tell us, we can only speculate. Of those things that occur to me that could be His reasons, if we limit ourselves accordingly, then we will not eat: Those that are bottom-feeders. Those that are carrion-eaters. Those that are poisonous at times. Those that have higher cholesterol. Those with higher intelligence levels. Those that reproduce at less than annual rates. As I said, these are jsut some things that occur to me. God's reasons may be entirely different. I hope this help! Love in Christ, Mark |
