Bible Note: Whatever "scholar" you're quoting is not acquainted with "the pattern of sound teaching" that Paul reflected. Read Hebrews chapter 11. Were Abel, Enoch and Noah Jews? Why did Paul include these among faithful Jews like Abraham, Isaac and Moses, all of whom would not be 'made perfect apart from Christians'? I will comment on Romans 11:23,24. Notice in the context of verses preceding it Paul uses that ever important word "if." That is, "if they do not persist in unbelief, they will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again." But we don't want to get into a "once saved, yaddah, yaddah, yaddah" discussion, do we? Let's don't be like those "in the last days" that are always "learning but never able to acknowledge the truth." (2 Tim 3:7) Wilma |
