Bible Question:
Welcome to the discussion Steve, That is an interesting point that you bring up. I read Romans chapter 8 again, keeping this idea in mind, and it would seem to say that God's purpose is to bring about good for the people who love him. Based on that interpretation, then God created the universe becuase if there were no universe, there would be no people to love Him, and He would not be able to bring about good for them. What does everyone think? Is this the answer? |
Bible Answer: hi Pent! from what i have come to understand, God did not create the universe and all of us because he ws feeling lonely or he wanted someone to love Him. all of his creations until man, showed His power and wisdom. but to show His everlasting love, He created man. so it was not he created man so that man could love him but so the He can love man and to show the extent he'll go to love him by sacrificing His only begotten Son. this may be only half true but as the above verse Deuteronomy says "the secret things belong to the Lord our God", so only He knows the full reason. |
