Bible Question: Jesus came to "fulfill" the old law. Part of the old law was the commandments to wear tassles on the "wings" (corners) of his garment and to wear (Deu 22:12 "You shall make tassels (tzit-tzitot) on the four corners (kanafim...wings) of the clothing with which you cover yourself.) Since Jesus was without sin, I must assume that He observed this commandment. Why do you suppose have I never seen a picture of Jesus in compliance with this? |
Bible Answer: Prosemetic, Jesus was not after the order of the Aaronic priests but was after the order of Melchisedec. (Heb 5:6 KJV) As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. Hebrews, chapters 5 - 7, explains this in more detail. And many paintings show Christ as a very hansom man, yet Isaiah states He was not comely. And many show a sunburst around His head. Paintings are imaginations. If we had a true picture of Jesus would not some start to worship the picture and turn it into an idol? terrib |
