Bible Question:
Has anyone ever had any dealings with or known personally anyone who says they have accepted Christ and are not living their faith BUT profess to have been given the gift to communicate with dead people? She says it's a gift as we Christians would think of our gifts. She sees spirits like a medium or psychic would. What scripture could I use to make her see that what she is doing is not of God but satanic. |
Bible Answer: Hi Lamb Chop, This practice is strictly forbidden in the following passage: Deut 18:10 "There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices witchcraft, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, Deut 18:11 or one who casts a spell, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. Deut 18:12 "For whoever does these things is detestable to the LORD; Furthermore those that she sees are not the spirits of the dead, who are either in sheol awaiting judgment, or are with the Lord. The spirits she sees are imposters, and will lead her to her destruction. If you enter "medium" "mediums" or "spiritist" in the search you will also see additional information. I hope this helps!
