AMPLIFIED 2015 | Ephesians 6:4 ¶ Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger [do not exasperate them to the point of resentment with demands that are trivial or unreasonable or humiliating or abusive; nor by showing favoritism or indifference to any of them], but bring them up [tenderly, with lovingkindness] in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. |
Bible Question: WHAT DOES THE VERSE MEAN TO YOU ' DO NOT PROVOKE YOUR CHILDREN TO WRATH? |
Bible Answer: JANEL Ephes. 6:4 And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord. Col. 3:21 Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged. These two verses mean that parents and fathers in particular should not frustrate their children. In other words give them impossible tasks or expectations. Children are to be nurtured and disciplined but always in such away to give them achievable goals. Also the discipline and nurturing is to be done in a loving way never lording over them. EdB |
