Bible Note: Hi Betsyann, Ephesians 2 4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. God gives us faith by which we are saved. 1 Peter 1 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. It is God's power that keeps us. Where in these verses, or the many others that tell us about salvation, include physical healing as a prerequisite? Its not there. I am absolutely certain that each of those who tell you that if you had "enough faith" you wouldn't need glasses have something wrong in their bodies. None of us is without defect. Are any overweight? Do any have high cholesterol? Hypertension? Low thyroid? So many other things not quite so obvious? And what of Paul? I suppose he didn't have enough faith to be saved? 2 Thess 3:17 I, Paul, write this greeting with my own hand, and this is a distinguishing mark in every letter; this is the way I write. You know what distinguished Paul's handwriting: Gal 6:11 See with what large letters I am writing to you with my own hand. Paul's eyes weren't so good either. If God chooses to heal your eyes, you'll know it, and you won't need the glasses. If I may be so bold, you may wish to seek out better teachers of the Bible. Love in Christ, Mark |
