Bible Note: Dear Kathy - May I please gently but firmly remind you and others who have veered off the path, that this Forum is NOT a venue for interminable personal defenses and apologies nor is it a proper medium for personal chatter among ourselves. Use private e-mail if you wish to engage in these kinds of things, but not the Forum. This is a Forum dedicated to Bible questions and Bible answers -- AND NOTHING ELSE! As Tim Moran has said, let's be done with this ridiculous circus atmosphere. (It is wasting everyone's time.) And let's get back to the stated purpose of this Forum: Bible questions, Bible answers. And leave personal chatter out of it. That includes personal opinion of Scripture and personal opinion, favorable or unfavorable, of other Forum users. No one really cares much for our personal opinions anyway, so why not just keep them to ourselves? ........ If one sticks with proper exegesis of Scripture, the need for repeated "I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings" will no longer exist. I post this not to dampen the enthusiasm of anyone but to remind all of us that we stray from the central purpose of being here: to study God's word. We all of us tend to stray now and then and need to be reminded of why we're here; thus, this is not meant as a personal message to you alone by any means. ..... Let us proceed on that path on which the Forum has been designed to travel. Let us exalt God and His Christ, and humbly study His word together, as we beg Him for grace to put aside our personal interests, feelings, and opinions. It is, after all, our ego, our vanity, which troubles us and darkens our way, isn't it? --Hank |
