NASB | Ephesians 5:5 For this you know with certainty, that no immoral or impure person or covetous man, who is an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Ephesians 5:5 For be sure of this: no immoral, impure, or greedy person--for that one is [in effect] an idolater--has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God [for such a person places a higher value on something other than God]. |
Bible Question: can a person be a christian and stil sin long term in grievous ways. |
Bible Answer: Yes. The epistles (especially Paul's letters) are all about informing and reminding the believers of their identity in Christ. The Spirit led Paul to talk about this, I believe, knowing that a new identity is tough to live out. But we have the saints and prophets and the Spirit and God's angel armies to assist us in the battle. But most importantly, we have this; as much as for the believing sinner and the uninformed: "But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." 2 Corinthians 12:9 Read and *study* the book of Ephesians to explore your true identity in Christ. |
