Bible Question: what does th bible say about sex in marriage, should a woman give herself to her husband everytime he wants it? |
Bible Answer: Hi, Hen! GB offered an excellent post... Christians are not only bound to a different behavior when dealing with the world, but also when dealing with each other... mutual Love and respect will bring us to the perfection of the Law (Love the Lord your God above all and your neighbor as yourself!) In explaining how he viewed the marital relationship Paul had this to say: But since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband. The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. The wife's body does not belong to her alone but also to her husband. In the same way, the husband's body does not belong to him alone but also to his wife. Do not deprive each other except by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. (1 Corinthians 7:2-5) So if a Christian woman respects (in Christ) her husband, and a Christian man loves (in Christ) his wife the perfection of the Law is in place: neither spouse seeks to satisfy the flesh at the expense of the Love and respect of their marital bond: Man plus Woman: one under God!
