Bible Question:
I wrote last night "according to your standards the authority of the new testament is the church of rome" i want to say that im sorry. I cant remember to whome i directed it but can the mods please not delete this? I have no right to say this. I think the thread got deleted. |
Bible Answer: Dear Kum Kum, It was I to whom your reply was directed, and even though I wasn't offended, certainly I forgive you. Criticism of the authority and canon of scripture is not really within the bounds set by our host, the Lockman Foundation. It would be perfectly fine to question why a book was included in the canon- even noting certain alleged discrepancies. (If I'm correct,Martin Luther had great difficulty in trying to reconcile Galatians and James). At any rate diligence and direct evidence are needed to substantiate any claims that are outside the bounds or Orthodoxy. Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |
