Subject: How can I deal with this child in love? |
Bible Note: Hi AngelsofGod, This situation you've described is among the most difficult that any of us ever face. You will need to be very close to God to not only endure, but to overcome. The good news is that is is possible to overcome, to bring this child to normalcy. First, stand on the promise of God: Phil 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." It is possible to survive this intact, with your family intact. As you already know, pray: Phil 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. The first, most important thing, is to maintain your walk with God. Daily prayer, Bible reading, regular church and fellowship, family prayer and devotions, all of these things will keep you strong in the Lord. Keep your focus on God, and not centered on your stepdaughter's behaviours. You are to be controlled by God, not this child. I believe that it would be extremely valuable to you to meet with other Christians who are dealing with the same issues. Let the body of Christ minister to you, and you also will minister to them. Look for support groups at your church, and there is none available, other churches. I do not know if these people are in your area, but perhaps they may be able to help: www.parentproject.com. May God bless you and uphold you. Jesus dearly loves this little girl, and I will also pray that He will heal her hurt and anger and fear. Love in Christ, Mark Please keep in touch if you wish, I will continue to lift you up in prayer. markdseyler@yahoo.com |
