NASB | Ephesians 3:19 and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Ephesians 3:19 and [that you may come] to know [practically, through personal experience] the love of Christ which far surpasses [mere] knowledge [without experience], that you may be filled up [throughout your being] to all the fullness of God [so that you may have the richest experience of God's presence in your lives, completely filled and flooded with God Himself]. |
Bible Question: How can we know a love that surpasses being known? I asked God this last night and I encourage you to ask Him as well. He showed me a little. Let me know if you have experienced anything additional. |
Bible Answer: This verse is actually part of the apostle Paul's prayer for the believer. He actully prayed the answer v16-17amp. "May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthed and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the [Holy] Spirit [Himself indwelling your innermost being and personality]. May Christ through your faith[actually] dwell (settledown, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love." There must be a heartfelt petition in Faith and God who is rich will respond. He once spoke in my spirit that love is an earnest desire to please the recipient of that love. The more we seek to please Him the more of Himself He reveals. He is multi-faceted. I personally only want to see his Good side.(chastisement included) Never do I want to even think about his fierce anger which is toward the wicked daily. |
