Bible Question:
What does "for this reason mean"? |
Bible Answer: Hi, Edgar! Pual is speaking about the tribulations for the preaching of Christ. He brings to them all the wisdom (mystery) reveal about Christ and the believers. In Paul's heart and mind whatever he suffers is nothing compared with the message he has been ordained to bring to them. As he opens this particular passage he calls himself a prisoner of Christ... he sees in his suffering their spiritual growth as they are partners, in Christ, of Paul's sufferings. He calls them to be strong in the Lord and to know that he undestands that it is for their benefit that he must endure the physical tribulations. Though Paul himself may be held in chains and behind closed guarded doors, the Word is free and nourishes both Paul and the disciples in Ephesus! God Bless! Angel |
