AMPLIFIED 2015 | Ephesians 2:8 For it is by grace [God's remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] gift of God; |
Bible Question: At 18 I accepted Christ as my Savior. I am now 31 in the time in between I have been in and out of churches. I do not have a church home. I love Christian music, I read the daily bread almost everyday, I know who Christ is and believe in him. I do not have a so called "personal relationship" with him that I hear so much about. Does this mean I will not go to heaven? |
Bible Answer: Dear friend No this does not mean that you will not go to Heaven it just means that you will get in by the skin of your teeth as the old saying goes. We must keep our relationship with Jesus on a daily basis. What if you didn't tell your children or your wife that you loved them very often how would they feel? that is just how jesus feels when we don't spend time with Him. And as far as you not Having a Church home The writer of hebrews gave us instruction about that in chapter 10:25 He said to not forsake the assemblying of ourselves together. It is also in the church that you gain strength from others as you worship together. You gain strength from food so you need to gain spiritual strength from a daily quiet time with god on your knees in prayer and Bible study, not just reading form our daily bread. This may sound like preaching but I can't help it since I pastor a church in texas. If I can ever help you please contact me through this web site and the we can talk further I will be praying for you may God richly bless you in the days to come as you seek a church home and begin to work on your relationship with him.
