NASB | Ephesians 2:16 and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, by it having put to death the enmity. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Ephesians 2:16 And [that He] might reconcile them both [Jew and Gentile, united] in one body to God through the cross, thereby putting to death the hostility. |
Bible Question: would someone please tell me what type of wood the cross was made of and where it states it in the bible? |
Bible Answer: From an excerpt in The Case for Christ by Lee Strobel..." in 1968, archaeologists in Jerusalem found the remains of about three dozen Jews who had died during the uprising against Rome around A.D. 70. One victim, whose name was apparently Yohanan, had been crucified. And sure enough, they found a seven-inch nail still driven into his feet, with small pieces of olive wood from the cross still attached". I don't believe that it's in the bible as to what type of wood it was. Barry |
