Bible Question:
are sinners forgiven? a person is telling me that only christians are forgiven of sins, and that sinners can never be forgiven of their sins because they are not christians. are sinners forgiven? |
Bible Answer: Hello vnct blzn, Forgiveness is found "in Christ". Note Eph. 1:7, "In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace" (NASB) Eph. 2:8 tells us, "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;" (NASB) Those who are saved have placed their faith in the work of the Lord Jesus Christ and His sacrificial death on the cross. A "Christian" would be one who is a believer in Christ- hence they would be "in Christ" and have forgiveness. I hope this answers your question, BradK |
