Bible Question: Two fold question. People that die without ever knowing of Jesus or God, will they have any chance at redemption? And unbelievers that died have no chance at redemption during the tribulation. Or is a second chance at that time not really foretold? |
Bible Answer: An echo to Rom 1:19-20 with a Chinese perspective May I add a little bit of my thought (though I am not an expert). The English word "righteousness" is expressed and developed into Chinese by using "pictograph" and "meaning borrowing words". Perhaps some of you may already knew that Chinese originally develop words with "pictograph". A very simple example is the Chinese word meaning day. Ancient Chinese drew a circle representing the sun and put a dot in the centre. Then we have the word "day" in Chinese. For the English "righteousness", this Chinese word is composed of the upper and the lower part. The upper part was developed from the "drawing of a lamb with fire burning underneath" - this symbolizes the meaning of sacrifice (now, you see how it represents the work of our dear Jesus, though the ancient Chinese did not know Jesus). The lower part is the Chinese word means "I". Therefore, the interperation is that by the sacrificing of the Lamb, we (I am) are able to be called righteous. So, we can see before the gospel was spread to China, God has used His own way to reveal Himself to different nations in the ancient time. Shalom Azure |
