Bible Question: should a person be circumcised according to the bible |
Bible Answer: Greetings kathy_41! According to the Old Testament: Yes! (Genesis 17:10). According to the New Testament: No! (Galatians 6:15) A Christian is no longer under this ordinance, that they should be circumcised, according to the argument that Paul presents in Romans 2:25-3:1, 1 Cor. 7:19, Gal. 5:6,11; 6:15; and Colossians 2:11. Circumcision was simply a "shadow" of the new covenant that was to come- that of the circumcision of the heart! (Colossians 2:11) Blessings to you, Nolan |
