Subject: What is the Link of faith and works? |
Bible Note: Graceful Your answer is based on sound logic, but it presupposes that we know what God’s will is. Your faith is not in God but rather in what you have determined in your mind to be what God’s word says about your situation. Which may or may not be the true. Let us take this very hypothetical situation (I hate doing this, but here goes). Let us say a person loses a job. We then pray that the friend gets the job back (God gives us the desire of our heart). The person then goes back to work and there is a horrible explosion and everyone is killed. What have we done? We have exercised our faith not in God but rather what we have determined to be in God’s word and prayed our desires not God’s. Would it have been better to pray God’s will? Isn’t that faith in God? Trusting God to accomplish what needs to be done in our live to best suit his desired pleasure. EdB |
