Bible Question: why is the teaching on the flesh less than the world and the devil? |
Bible Answer: Greetings Warrior2 and welcome to the Forum! The scripture you cite gives the answer. The practices of the flesh are obvious - they are the responses that we make with our sinful nature; they are not glorifying to God. It is necessary that we learn how to avoid sin. Thankfully God's Word instructs us. We keep our lives pure before God by holding fast to His Word! Ps 119:9 Since the devil is such a sneaky adversary, it is important to be aware of the ways in which he attacks believers. Eph 6:11 instructs us to put on the whole armor of God so that we may be able to withstand his schemes. The world is often a means by which we turn away from God. All too often we seek to have our needs met there rather than from Him. The devil cleverly entices us from the world. This is where the he takes aim. We should heed the warnings about him in God's Word. "Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour." 1 Peter 5:8 See also Eph 4:22; 1 John 2:16, 2 Cor 2:9-11. Hope this helps! Blessings, Mommapbs |
