NASB | Galatians 5:17 For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Galatians 5:17 For the sinful nature has its desire which is opposed to the Spirit, and the [desire of the] Spirit opposes the sinful nature; for these [two, the sinful nature and the Spirit] are in direct opposition to each other [continually in conflict], so that you [as believers] do not [always] do whatever [good things] you want to do. |
Bible Question (short): Holy Spirit leaving you |
Question (full): I got saved in 2004, but I started to backslide early this year. I just recently came back into fellowship with God. During the times of my backsliding, my heart wasn't being convicted because I kept on doing the same sinful things. Now that I have come back into fellowship with God, I find my heart being convicted again. Does this mean that the Holy Spirit left from me early in 2007, and now it has recently come back? I remember reading somewhere in scripture that once you sin against the Holy Spirit, it will never come back. |
