AMPLIFIED 2015 | Galatians 2:9 And recognizing the grace [that God had] bestowed on me, James and Cephas (Peter) and John, who were reputed to be pillars [of the Jerusalem church], gave to me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, so that we could go to the Gentiles [with their blessing] and they to the circumcised (Jews). |
Bible Question (short): was kiss customary greeting v handshake |
Question (full): Matt26:40-49 Betrayal of Jesus by Judas with a kiss -- I teach a jr. high sunday school class -- this was part of last week's lesson -- some of the kids were "grossed out" by the "kiss". I explained that I believed that "handshake" was not a greeting at this time. That the "kiss" was a customary greeting between close friends and/or family. I would like to verify this. Can anyone help? Thanks |
