Bible Question: if you get paid 2000 dollars every month, and your bills total 1900 dollars every month, how can you pay your tithes. Do you neglect paying your bills and use that money for your tithes? Just wondering |
Bible Answer: We walk by faith and not by sight. Pray in submission to God, and do whatever He tells you to do. Trust Him to take care of you. Three years ago, when I finally truly committed myself to Christ, my wife and I owed 27,000 dollars. Our monthly income was 2400 dollars, and our expenses/payments were 3000 dollars. This was bare bones. God told me, in my heart, to tithe. I did. I placed my life in submission to Christ. Today, all of that debt has been paid. It was over two years before I saw it happen. From month to month, I watch as God takes an insufficient monthly income and makes it enough. This is what God is doing in my life. God may not tell someone else to tithe. He may say to give 2 percent to a homeless man, or whatever else pleases Him. But if you serve God, if you are born again into God's family, your debt becomes His debt, your bills His bills, and your income is His income, all of it subject to His command. He can leave it stand as is, if it serves His purpose. Or He can change your circumstances, to suit His will. I say all of that to say this. Commit your ways unto the Lord. Do not fear to follow Him, no matter where He may lead. Look to Him to supply your needs. Its not the paycheck that provides, it is your Heavenly Father. Trust Him. Love in Christ, Mark |
