Bible Question: what is the role of a father even if he remarried. i have 2 children out of wedlock, the father and i never married, the custody battle has been endless, our children are confused and tired and just want to come home with me, i have had difficulties being a single mom, and have not remarried. is it the fathers role to provide, but respect me, and stop trying to take them from me. his wife even claims them on her welfare for foodstamps and left me in my struggles with nothing. as a man of god, please tell me his role and what verse can i provide |
Bible Answer: Sadly there's not a whole lot in God's Word to deal with your specific situation with the fact you and the father were never married. I'm not saying you're completely on your own without any guidance from God but it's VERY difficult to provide counseling especially over the internet without getting both sides of the story. I can only suggest you get counseling from some professional christian counselor and hopefully get the father in the room with you. It does seem rather unfair that he and his wife are getting the foodstamps if indeed you have primary custody of the kids. My son is facing the very same problem with his ex-wife. It's a very harsh and Godless world of darkness and sinful people in which we live. I'll be praying for you and your kids as I'm praying for my own grandkids. Go with God in all things. Bill |
