NASB | 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life]. |
Bible Question:
Not only are we new creatures, we are also have a new life (Rom.6:4) have a new humanity (Eph 2:15) are new men (Eph 4:24, Col 3:10) are renewed of the Holy Spirit (Tit 3:5) it is Christ makes all things new (Rev 21:5) |
Bible Answer: That is correct. All that have received the Holy Ghost is a new creature. But, remember what Jesus said, what which is born of Spirit is Spirit. What is born of Flesh is Flesh. Spirit do not change what Flesh is. Though I have the Holy Ghost. I still have a choose, to follow after the Flesh, or the Spirit. I have a war, within me. That would not be the case, if my Flesh was somehow changed. |
