Bible Answer: Dear Gadh77, The simple answer is: Everything that is not part of the outer man. :-) Seriously, though, the phrase "inner man" can refer to different things depending on the context. Sometimes it is used to describe that part of the man which is not physical. Sometimes it means the part of a man where thought occurs. Sometimes it is used in opposition to that part of a person from which sensual desires arise. In the passage 2 Corinthians 4:16, Paul uses the terms inward man and outward man in the same sentence.
