NASB | 2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 2 Corinthians 3:18 And we all, with unveiled face, continually seeing as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are progressively being transformed into His image from [one degree of] glory to [even more] glory, which comes from the Lord, [who is] the Spirit. |
Bible Question: Genesis 1: Why did god make man in it's image? or conversely, why does god look human-like? |
Bible Answer: I would rephrase your question in my mind to say why do humans look like God? God was here first and decided to bless us as humans with His image. Now discussions have been had does that mean physically we are like God? Does it mean we were created with a soul, mind, and body? The discussion can take many directions and have heard good sermons bringing up both points. Ultimately our creation as humans is to glorify the Lord. Why did God chose this form or humans to be blessed like this, when you get to heaven you can ask Him, if you still find the question important. I know myself, many things I ponder know will become a whole lot less important when I lay my eyes on Him. Brad |
