Bible Question:
is euthanasia moral? i may have a terminal disease. |
Bible Answer: Dear vnctblzn, When considering such things, we have to ask to whom does our life belong? If we are believers, than all that we have belongs to our Lord, who purchased us with His blood (Acts 20:28; 1 Peter 1:18-19; etc.). All of our suffering is a very light thing compared to what Christ suffered. Furthermore, it is a manifestation of His love for us (Hebrews 12:7). If it is proof that He loves us, why would we want anything else? Can you think of anything more precious than God's love? Furthermore, per 2 Corinthians 1:6, our suffering ministers to the church. What if God is seeking glory in choosing to heal you? What if God is seeking glory in choosing to have you suffer in a way that shows the great power of a transformed life of a believer? If you belong to Christ, it is only one or the other. A faithful servant would not want to interfere with the objectives of his Master. Finally, Christ death also purchased for us all that we need for righteousness (2 Peter 2:3). Might I suggest that you read the epistles of Peter over and over? In Him, Doc |
