NASB | 1 Corinthians 8:1 Now concerning things sacrificed to idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge makes arrogant, but love edifies. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 8:1 Now about food sacrificed to idols, we know that we all have knowledge [concerning this]. Knowledge [alone] makes [people self-righteously] arrogant, but love [that unselfishly seeks the best for others] builds up and encourages others to grow [in wisdom]. |
Bible Question:
OK, did you read the link that I posted earlier in my original question?? In this page is a very strong statement: Mat. 4:4… "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by EVERY WORD that proceeds out of the mouth of God." |
Bible Answer: OK, Just a quick note. I read a little of this article and it is nonsense. I will go over it very carefully and use scripture to back my stand. It will take some time since it could become a few pages. I will try to make it as brief as possible. But I urge you to read scripture for yourself. Do not take my word or anyone elses word on what scripture is saying (even if it is in a printed article). It is IMPORTANT that you receive for yourself from scripture. That is what this walk is about--building a relationship with God so you do not have to use man to get to him. Read Matt 7:15. Just a note on Matt 4:4. It has nothing to do with the topic of dietary law. Satan was trying to get Christ to Doubt who He was and Christ used the Word to battle him. Satan was also using the Word against Christ in that passage. He was quoting true scriptures, but using them against Jesus. Jesus had to come back with the FULL understanding of the Word to battle that. Which is ironic because that is the case we have here with that article you found. It is using the Word out of context. Give me some time and I will give you what I receive on it. But I urge you again... Do not fall for mans wisdom, but decipher the scriptures for yourself!! Seek the truth! Yours in Christ, Sal |
