Bible Note: I don't know what the right answer is to this question. It's definitely not the first time I've heard it asked, though. I definitely agree that if you have doubuts about whether or not it is permissible, then you should not do it. I do, however, find some merit in the Leviticus chapter that was referenced. If everything else in that chapter is still not permissible today, then it stands to reason that neither is this. I don't think these things were grouped together by accident. I'm sure God has a very good reason for having wanted His people to abstain from having intercourse during that time. But we don't have to know/understand God's reasoning in order to follow His commands. No - I don't believe we're justified by works. Yes - I do believe we're saved by grace. But I also think that God had those expectations for a reason, and just because they're in the Old Test doesn't automatically mean they aren't still in effect.
