Bible Note: Hello Steve! I don't think that this verse teaches that marriage is no longer binding or important or treated with "seriousness".. And this is not saying that a partner should deprive the other partner of the sexual relationship of marriage. In my opinion, Paul is saying that marriage should not reduce one's devotion to the Lord. He wants us to keep our priorities clear. --Nolan |
