Subject: Can one know if their spouse is saved? |
Bible Note: Hi, Dr. Aixen... Although I do not necessarily disagree with your conclusions, I am compelled to comment. You wrote, "How can anyone besides the person himsel, and God, know if that person is saved?" (sic) Even the person himself can be mistaken: Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. (Matthew 7:21-23) You wrote, "They you can see their reaction, whether they reject it or turn again and rend you." But even the the reprobate can receive the Word with joy, but still not be saved: But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended. (Matthew 13:20-21) The Scripture does give us a "profile" of disciples of Christ. It is not hard to uncover. We could discuss that if you like. In Him, Doc |
