Bible Question:
Marriage/Divorce If an unbeliever, married to a believer states they want a divorce but will not proceed, what should the believer do i.e. proceed against their desire or remain married to the spouse who claims the marriage is not viable ? Can the believer remarry ? |
Bible Answer: Amatia, wlecome to the forum. Steve is right, the answer is "no" to both questions. The unbeliever must file and go all the way through. There is always hope that the marriage will be restored and more important, that the unbeliever becomes a believer. Only after the divorce can the believer remarry, they should not even be considering it until then. As I have said before, there are people who will say it is okay for the believer to take the divorce action and more ... but, I don't see God saying that. Searcher |
