AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 7:12 ¶ To the rest I declare--I, not the Lord [since Jesus did not discuss this]--that if any [believing] brother has a wife who does not believe [in Christ], and she consents to live with him, he must not leave her. |
Bible Question: Does 1 cor 7:12-14 verses support inter marriagefaith?I mean why is it a sin to marry them, infact we can introduce them to our lord and he can save them and their entire houdehold through us,isn't it? |
Bible Answer: Greetings bob2cool! 1 Cor. 7:12-14 is speaking of a case where a person has become a believer and his or her spouse has not. In that case, Paul tells the believer not to divorce the unbelieving spouse. It is not teaching that it is okay to marry a non-believer. Think of it for a minute. Why would anyone want to marry someone who shares such a different view of the world. Husbands and wives may have differences in personality or interest, but they must be united in their goals for life. Thus, Scripture tells us not to be 'unequally yoked' (2 Cor. 6:14).
