Bible Question (short): the power of our words |
Question (full): Hi! I'm trying to study the power of our words, i'll explain; i've read scripture verses in which we are told to be careful with what we say for who ever we bless will be blessed and whoever we curse will be cursed, and sometimes we curse people without realizing that once the words have been said they can actually be a curse or blessing to whomever we said it to. I've looked up some passages (they're listed below), but I can't really find that verse. I believe we as representatives of Christ on earth need to be careful with what we say not just because of what i said above, but because wether we realize it or not, the image we give to nonbelievers may affect their "openness" towards Christ. ---------------------------------------- Psalm 141:3, Proverbs 4:24, Proverbs 12: 14 and 18-19, Proverbs 13: 2-3, Proverbs 16:23-34, Proverbs 18:20-21, Proverbs 21:23, Ecclesiastes 5:1-3, Mathew 12:34, Mathew 15:18, Luke 6:45, Hebrew 13:15, Romans 3:14, Colossians3:8, Colossians 4:6, Ephesians 4:29, 1 Peter 3:10, James 3:10 ---------------------------------------- thanks for your help and/or input. |
