Bible Question: I have been considering cremation,, but I am a christian,, and I cant find anything in the bible that would forbid it,,, I feel it is most practical and economical,,, If God created us out of dust He surely can recreate us out of ashes...Please give me input on this.. |
Bible Answer: Check 1 Cor 15:50 - 'Now I say this, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.' Our bodies (or ashes left over) will not go into God's presence. They will be changed into bodies similar to our Lord's. Our bodies are perishable and must be changed for eternity. Consider all the Christian martyrs down through the ages (Wycliffe, etc.) who were cremated (not voluntarily, of course) but they will also have glorified bodies. I trust this helps. |
