Bible Question:
the other day, i was in a bible study, when the topic of Jesus being called the "last Adam" was presented.. in reference to 1 Corinth.15:45... Has anyone ever heard of this? and what is your opinion? |
Bible Answer: "Adam... is a type of Him who was to come." (Rom 5:14) In Rom 5:12-21 (please read it) the man Adam and the man Jesus Christ are compared and contrasted. Adam is like Christ. Adam represented the whole human race decending from him. His sin counted for all his posterity. When he sinned it counted for us all. And so "in Adam all die". (1 Cor 15:22) Likewise Jesus represents the whole believing human race. His righteous life counted for all his posterity too. Many were made sinners through Adam; many will be made righteous through Jesus. |
