Bible Question: we come to the air with spiritual bodies? But I thought the dead reunited in their bodies........those too are spiritual bodies? |
Bible Answer: Hi, Aries! Having a spiritual body does not mean being Holy--only God is Holy and those born of the Spirit (Holy Spirit) are holy... (Romans 8:11) Satan and his angels are spirits but they are far removed from holiness! There is a distinction between those in Christ and those in the world... when speaking of the changes to come Paul offers comforting words of hope to Christians while ignoring the non-believers: For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17) When we look at what the Gospel has to say, we find that hell or hell's fire will burn forever, there is no organic matter that can withstand that kind of fire (Matthew 3:11-12; 8:10-12; 13:37-50; 18:8-9; 25:41; Mark 9:43-48)... Further, Jesus warns that we are not to be amazed at His teachings or the things to come: "Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice and come out--those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned. (John 5:28-29) Though we will all be raised, Paul makes a distinction about those who are Saved in Christ and those who willfully rejected Him: They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the majesty of his power on the day he comes to be glorified in his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed. This includes you, because you believed our testimony to you. With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may count you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may fulfill every good purpose of yours and every act prompted by your faith. (2 Thessalonians 1:9-11) God Bless! Angel |
