Bible Note: Melanie What everyone seems to forget “IF” Paul was talking about a societal law of the time then the Bible is not timeless but is tied to a time and place, which simply is not the case. If this passage is just addressing a law of the that time and place it does not pertain to me here and now then the next question that must then be asked is what else is unique to a time or society. Soon I would have a Bible with sections cut out as they don’t pertain to me. Twenty years from now I would cut still more since they would be outdated and etc. If we read anything in the Bible and conclude that it pertains only to certain time or place then we have missed the message. It is for this same reason I and many others dismiss the conclusion that this was written because the women of Corinthian church sat separate from their husbands and were causing distractions during the service by shouting out what did he say or what did he mean. That is without support and means the Bible is written directly to one time and place. 2 Peter 1:20-21 But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation, 21for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.
