AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 14:15 Then what am I to do? I will pray with the spirit [by the Holy Spirit that is within me] and I will pray with the mind [using words I understand]; I will sing with the spirit [by the Holy Spirit that is within me] and I will sing with the mind [using words I understand]. |
Subject: WHAT DOES PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT MEAN? |
Bible Note: Hi retxar, I was led in a very short preliminary search to Zechariah 12:10. This talks of a spirit of grace and of supplication and the time of writing is before tongues. Zechariah 12:10, "And I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit [Or, a spirit] of grace and of supplication, so that they will look on Me/ whom they pierced; and they will mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him like the bitter weeping over a first-born." Combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words, I offer this comparison verse. John 19:36,37, "For these things came to pass, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, "Not a bone of Him shall be broken." And again another Scripture says, "They shall look on Him/ whom they pierced." From the heart, Ray |
