NASB | 1 Corinthians 13:1 If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 13:1 ¶ If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love [for others growing out of God's love for me], then I have become only a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal [just an annoying distraction]. |
Bible Question: What is meant by the tounge of angels in 1 cor 13:1? What do angels sound like when they speak? |
Bible Answer: Scripture ... Gen 21:17; Num 22:34ff; 1Ki 13:18, 19:5; Mat 1:20, 28:5; Act 10:7 ... Mike7, greetings. This question has been asked before, see what others have said. Whenever angels spoke, in was in the tongue of the hearer. The passages I cited said the following heard an angel: Hagar, Balaam, an old prophet, Elijah, Joseph, women and Cornelius. Some will say that some of these were Christ talking ... but, not in all cases. Therefore, when angels spoke it was a known language. Searcher |
