Bible Question:  Could you give more about the five gifts, Mr. Steve

Bible Answer:  Hello Jericho2002270867

Sorry I'm late getting back to you.

Apostle -- an emissary of Jesus Christ; a position which carried authority effective to all the churches.

Prophet -- Could either be one who would foretell (proclaim future events) or forthtell (proclaim God's truth) depending on the need and usage.

Evangelist -- One who told the good news of the gospel.

Pastor -- Literally, a shepherd. One who cares for a part of God's flock.

Teacher -- One who explains God's words.

Apostles and prophets were foundational gifts to the church (Eph 2:20). Wherever these gifts are om effect, they are toward the church in order to have the church as a whole doing the work of the ministry. Those who had these five gifts were NEVER to be the only ones doing the work, but they were to be equiping others.

Steve
