Subject: Emmaus, Are hope and charity gifts? |
Bible Note: If you believe God and trust in Him he gives you hope. This is not mentioned in 1 Cor 12. To do anything for God and not have love is to be a clanging cymbal 1 Cor 13:1. The God kind of love given us by the Spirit is not a gift mentioned in 1 Cor 12. However, We do not earn the ability to love others as God loves them. IT IS GIVEN US (a gift if you will) because we desire to please Him and ask for it and give ourselves up for Him. Hope and charity (love) are not gifts of 1 Cor 12. |
