Bible Answer: Greetings, 1 Corinthians 12:30 is a piece of the conclusion of an entire chapter that teaches that each Christian has different gifts, and no one spiritual gift should be expected to be possessed by every believer. I do not speak in tongues, and I never have. But I am confident in my salvation. I know that I have been saved because of the change that has occurred within myself. And I know that I will be saved, not through speaking in tongues, but by the transformation that has happened within! Speaking in tongues saves no one. Only God's grace saves us, through faith, and grace does not come from anything that we can do, but from God only, since it is His gift to us. (Ephesians 2:8) I am thankful for those who do speak in tongues, but speaking in tongues DOES NOT save us. Blessings to you, Makarios |
