NASB 1 Corinthians 12:3 Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus is accursed"; and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit.
AMPLIFIED 2015 1 Corinthians 12:3 Therefore I want you to know that no one speaking by the [power and influence of the] Spirit of God can say, "Jesus be cursed," and no one can say, "Jesus is [my] Lord," except by [the power and influence of] the Holy Spirit.

Subject:  Gos Can Speak!

Bible Note:  Peter,

Please do not do what I think you are about to do. If you are going to try and push that speaking in tongues is the meaning of what Paul is teaching in 1 Corinthians 12:3 your never going to sale that here. That would be a stretch completely ignoring the context and the written word.

True enough one must be in the Spirit, have the Holy Spirit of God dwelling within for him/her to speak in tongues. But the same is true for one to perform any and all of the spiritual gifts.

Before you attempt to push this, if that is indeed what you are about to do, then please answer this question for us. Paul says in 1 Corinthians 12:3b "and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit." Are you going to also tell us that if someone is unable to say Jesus is Lord in tongues that they are NOT in the Spirit?

If I am off base on my assumption of what you are about to push regarding this subject please forgive me. I apologize in advance and will do so again if I am in error about what I see coming.

Steve
