Bible Question: could you please expansiate the concept of speaking in tongue more to me |
Bible Answer: Speaking in tongue in the first place is a gift of the Holy Spirit according to Apostle Paul in 1cointhians 12:1-11, 14:1,2. When we take a critical look at what happened in Acts 2:1-4 the main perpuse of this tongue was to minister the word of the Lord Jesus Christ to the people who were in Jerusalem. They were of different tribes and languages.so the spirit enabled each of them to speak in diff.language."a crowd came together in bewilderment, becuase each one heard them speaking in his own language"Acts 2:6. In the other hand,Ap.Paul agian said in 1cor.14:2 that the one speaking in tongues speaks to God and him self but not unto men. This means its help us in praying. |
