AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 12:13 For by one [Holy] Spirit we were all baptized into one body, [spiritually transformed--united together] whether Jews or Greeks (Gentiles), slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one [Holy] Spirit [since the same Holy Spirit fills each life]. Subject: Please tell me: What does "filled" mean? |
Bible Note: Hi JVH, There are nine passages that say "filled with the Holy Spirit" and one "filled with the Spirit". I noticed that John the baptizer was filled wih the Holy Spirit while yet in his mother's womb and scripture was quoted of what he would do. Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke of the fruit of the womb which might be a quote from the Psalms. Zacharias was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied and quoted scripture. Jesus was filled with the Holy Spirit and quoted scripture to fight temptation. Now I don't believe that Jesus will be full of Himself here. Would it be plausible to make the Holy Spirits so far into holy spirit. In other words, they used the holy spirit of the word of God. What do you think? Later, Ray |
