Bible Question: What is the 3rd reason that we "eat of the bread and drink of the cup" if one reason is in Remberence of Him and the other reason is to proclaim His death. Sincerely, Glenn Brown |
Bible Answer: Glenn Brown The Old Covenant was sealed with the blood of Abraham through the circumcision and the blood of God symbolically by the animals split in half that Abraham walked through, and later again symbolically by God in the form of a smoking oven and burning torch. The new covenant was sealed with the blood of Jesus, which was poured out for the new covenant. In a blood covenant bread and wine is always eaten by those that are partakers in the covenant. We become partakers in the covenant as we take the wine and bread. Jesus told us to do this often in remembrance of Him. EdB |
