Bible Question (short): Why do we have communion monthy |
Question (full): stop me if i am wrong. Don't the Passover and communion reference one another. First Jesus and the Diciple were celebrating the Passover Matthews 26:17-19) as commanded in rememberance of an everlasting ordinance. The Hebrews were to remember the day that God brought them out of Egypt. The 14th day of the first month. This month being the beginning of the year. Exodus 12. Now during the Passover supper with Jesus, He broke bread and they ate in remembrence of His body since He is the sacrificial lamb and drank wine representing the blood of Christ that was shed to save us or to cover our sins. Just as blood was put on the doorpost and God said he would pass over the house with the blood on the doorpost. They were to celebrate Passover on the 14 day of the first month. To me that mean annually. My question is why do we have communion (Passover) once a month? I grew up in a Baptist Church. |
